As is usual, Fox News, the Wall Street Journal, Yahoo are the only mainstream media covering this story. The National Enquirer broke the story in December, but your blogger does not consider that a satisfactory source.
Meanwhile, this has been an open secret, locally, for years. Back in his trial attorney days, he rarely wore his wedding ring in court, despite being married.
Local insiders say that he kept the mistress in a nice apartment in Cary until he first ran for president, when he moved her to Puerto Rico.
Contrast this to the mainstream media reaction when U.S. Senator Larry Craig was ticketed in a men's room. The media killed him.
Why has the pretty boy been allowed the kid glove treatment? Just another pass for a good old Democrat.

Raleigh - Your blogger has some very kind neighbors in her West Raleigh neighborhood. They host a nice playgroup for our kids and watch our house when we are away, such as this week, which we have spent at the beach. However, they are about as far left as one can be.
This landed in the in box of KCC's private mail today and your blogger just felt that she had to share it:
Peace Action and Cameron Village Library are co-sponsoring an exhibit
this summer at the library July 10-20 on the effects of the bombing of
Hiroshima and Nagasaki in 1945.
There will be a kick-off event this coming Thursday evening at Cameron Village
Library, starting at 7 pm, featuring representatives from the Hiroshima Museum
and a survivor of the bombing.
KCC's first thought when seeing the title, about a bombing remembering event, was to think that this was supposed to occur on December 7th, but how nice it was for these patriots to celebrate twice per year. Then, she read the contents! These people are for everyone but Americans.
Certainly, we hope to never use our nuclear capabilities again. But we must have them. Ronald Reagan taught us that "Peace through Strength" was the most effective defense weapon we could have.

Former Senator Jesse A. Helms died this morning in Raleigh. He was 86 years old. The News and Observer has an excellent write-up here.
God bless America. Thank you for giving us Jesse Helms. He stood up for this country when it wasn't fashionable and when no one else would.
This blogger first heard of Helms from her father, a conservative Democrat who spoke lovingly of Ronald Reagan and Jesse Helms over the dinner table.
Though your blogger became a Republican in 1976 at the tender age of nine, it wasn't until 1984 that she became active in the North Carolina Republican Party. That year, Helms and Democrat Governor Jim Hunt ran the most expensive race ever for the United States Senate, which Helms won.
Always a staunch anti-communist, Helms was like a ray of light for this blogger. She still feels that most people are not aware of the threat that nations like Red China, North Korea, Vietnam, and others pose. Helms opposed any aid to the Soviet Union and this blogger agreed, feeling that nation would have fallen much sooner, had we not aided that communist government.
Insiders say, of his whole life, Helms regretted the racial practices he used in campaign tactics, most of all. He had many detractors and was seen as anti-gay by many, though he employed many minorities and gays on his staff.
He assumed the nickname "Senator No", since he often was a lonely "no" vote in the Senate. He was sharp and knew the Senate rules like no other, often becoming a pain in the side to liberals, such as the currently ailing Senator Ted Kennedy (D-Taxachusetts).
We appreciate you, Senator Helms, and Godspeed to you. It is appropriate that you pass on the birthday of our great nation.
May God bless your family, our state and the United States of America. Helms joins fellow patriots John Adams, Thomas Jefferson, and James Monroe by passing away on this great holiday.

Congresswoman Virginia Foxx released the following statement today on the death of former five-term Senator Jesse Helms. Senator Helms passed away this morning at age 86.
"Senator Helms was the truest of patriots," Rep Foxx said. "His passion for conservative principles and the vigor with which he pursued them was second to none.
"I consider Senator Helms to be a mentor and dear friend. He dedicated his life to ensuring that the America he knew and loved would remain a strong beacon of freedom in a tumultuous world. Senator Helms leaves behind a strong legacy of fighting for the freedoms that make America great, even in the face of the strongest of foes.
"Today my thoughts and prayers go out to those Senator Helms left behind. I pray that God's comfort might be with all of his loved ones during this difficult time."
Emerald Isle - With fewer farmers growing corn for food, and growing more for fuel, the price of basic items is going up. Prices on staples, such as flour, are headed upwards, as many farmers try to cash in on the new Ethanol wave. However, average folks are seeing fewer benefits.

A Democrat victory in November would only make the situation worse.
It's not enough that the commie-libs all want us to drive battery powered cars, they also want us to drive cars fueled by food. This blogger is sticking with her two small SUVs, thank you very much. For what it's worth, her husband still has a sedan.
Today, Dome, the News and Observer's top political blog, reported that Barack Hussein Obama has opened campaign offices in a number of cities in North Carolina, with the headquarters in Raleigh.
Knowing that Obama won't wear an American flag pin, pledge the Flag, or even show common decency by placing his hand over his heart when the flag is displayed. Thus, KCC wonders if Obama staffers will have an American flag in his offices or the one of the Cuban/Che Guevara specialty.
If Senator Obama and his wife Michelle are ashamed of this nation, they should go where they feel more welcome. Your blogger suggests they might be happier in Iran. Michelle would have to give up all of the freedoms she enjoys here, such as being able to work outside the home, wear fashionable clothes, and say what she thinks or feels, no matter how silly.
KCC is ashamed of Senator Obama's actions and statements regarding our fine nation, and feels the Republicans would have a grand old time with him during the Fall elections. Just having Obama as the Democrat nominee, will draw so many conservatives to the polls, that John McCain's coattails might be much longer than earlier anticipated.
Editor's Note: Your blogger has been upset with the Republican National Committee and their process of allowing non-affiliated/independent voters to participate in Republican primaries. She thinks these Independents selected our party nominee, rather than did actual registered Republicans. KCC hopes this will be corrected before the 2012 election cycle.
Additionally, for those of you who want to condemn KCC for using Obama's middle name, we do so here because it IS his name. Thus, it cannot be "racist" as some on the left have charged.
Case in point: In the 1992 primaries, former President George Bush (41) was running against Pete DuPont of Delaware. DuPont's first name was actually Pierre, and Bush consistently called him that to point out what was a difference between them.
North Carolina Gathering of Eagles leader Ross "Bubba" McDowell, is warning his fellow members to be prepared for a counter-protest this Saturday. The infamous Westboro Baptist Church has announced their intention to picket the Marine Corps at Camp Lejune this weekend.
Their premise is so preposterous, that we have included their announcement flier in this post. The Westboro Baptist Church of Topeka, Kansas, is mostly composed of a "minister", Fred Phelps, and his family. They believe that God hates homosexuals and because America has "allowed" homosexuals to exist, then America is evil.
Once again, they are picking on our proud Marines by planning a protest at Camp Lejune, near Jacksonville, in Onslow County. Somehow, the "church" ties their protest to the recently discovered murder of a pregnant Camp Lejune Marine. Perhaps the reader can figure this one out!
According to McDowell, these people "have hijacked" the Christian faith and are causing a ruckus at the funerals of our American Heroes.

Katy's Conservative Corner's least favorite NC political blog, BlueNC, has proudly published its list of sponsors. At the very bottom of the list is Media Matters, the group that is bashing Rush Limbaugh, Bill O'Reilly, Michelle Malkin, Sean Hannity, Tucker Carlson, Glenn Beck, and other prominent conservatives. Media Matters says that the most popular person in cable news, Bill O'Reilly, uses his position to "serially misinform his audiences" and was awarded the "MisInformer of the Year Award" for 2004.
KCC wishes Media Matters was unworthy of mention. However, these people are meddling in our business and our personal lives by trying to dictate what we see on television and hear on radio, especially talk radio.
It's not enough that their liberal view points are unwanted and non-entertaining. AirAmerica failed and proved that liberals can't, or don't know how to compete in the marketplace.
Now they are trying the Communist approach: get the government to shut down free thought and free speech. By clicking on the Rush Limbaugh link, above, you can view their efforts to throw Rush (and others) off the air.

BlueNC plays dirty when it comes to politics. Senator Elizabeth Dole was depicted as a slasher today (left) for voting to not to raise spending on liberal priorities. KCC also has found that the NC Democrat party used the same photo on its home page. We had hoped their state party would be above these low-blow tactics.
BlueNC loves to bash the John Locke Foundation and enjoy promoting higher taxes, included the dreaded transfer taxes. (More on that available at the Americans For Prosperity site or on FreedomWorks NC).
We conservatives have much work to do BEFORE November 2008. These liberal organizations are well-funded and well-organized. They are after our way-of-life.
