Reader Mail: How Free is Free for Healthcare? by Mudd Larkins

Katy, 

This here is Mudd Larkins of the famous One Eyed Betty and the Back Porch Boys.  I just wanted to tell you about my 3rd cousin JT Duncan.  He writ me this letter about how his maw and all the Duncans is going to be voting for anybody that will get this healthcare bill passed. 

 I know folks is wanting to stop this here bill, but JT says everything is going to be free.  They aint charging for any doctorin things.  On top of that my favorite itch medicin will also be free. 

0002_OBAMACARE3  They was told by some city folks that they could only visit the doctor for those women's test, you know mamographs, once every five years or so.  Well heck I don't think ma Duncan has ever had one of those mamographs anyway.  Sounds to me like some big city insurance company trying to get more money.  

Katy tell me true, is this thing really gonna be free?  

Only free thing I ever got was when that church lady, Miss Botaw, left the room and we was on her couch we dug the pennies out from under the cushions.  We aint very learned, but we can't seem to understand how the government can cover 30 million new folks and it aint gonna cost us anything.  

Boy they must have a big couch up there in Washington.  You know if they can give free doctorin to everyone I guess they could just give everyone a house, a truck, and a bunch of vittles.  JT says if we vote those people back in they will get us the house and we can pick what color truck we want. JT wants a red truck, but ma says he can't have it cause that color makes the dogs sick and they will mess up the truck. 

Gotta go write some new music.  Betty gets mad if she don't have some new songs.  She's a hoping to get a new glass eye, cause what she has got now is pre exsisting.  Hope she don't want a new leg too.

Thanks so much for writing. It's been some time since I've heard from one of the famous Back Yard Boys.  Let me know when your next bit o' music is out.  

You make some valid points.  I'm sorry to say I don't think you have a free truck coming and your cousin, JT, needs to have his head examined.  It won't be any time soon, as the waits in socialist health care systems are quite slow.  Give my best to One Eyed Betty.  I hope she doesn't need that new leg, either...for everyone's sake!
