Longtime liberal Democrat, David Price, has picked up challengers again this year. Republican Liberty Caucus member, B.J. Lawson, returns for another go at that Congressional seat. Lawson proved in the 2008 cycle that he could raise money and lots of it. This ability could scare away other GOP challengers.
Facing off against Lawson in the Republican primary is Apex businessman Frank Roche. According to the Raleigh News and Observer's Under the Dome blog, Roche says he hopes to win the support of "traditional conservatives, who may not be comfortable with some of Lawson's more Libertarian leanings."

Editor's Notes:
Republican Liberty Caucus members generally follow the teachings of Libertarian turned Republican, Congressman Ron Paul. Your blogger will NOT take a position in this race.
Thanks to the liberal Democrats in control of the North Carolina General Assembly, the 4th Congressional District has long been seen as a "safe seat" for Democrats.
Todd Batchelor once ran for the seat against Price, and told KCC, that "it would take a serious redrawing of the district" for a Republican to win. Let's just hope that we get an overwhelming win in '10 or a very disgruntled voting block to give one of these gentlemen a chance.
David Price needs to be sent back to his teaching job at Duke University.
