The Vice Chairman's job is a big one and one that requires not only a conservative but someone who has demonstrated a dedication to the Republican Party in North Carolina. David Sawyer has served the state GOP well as Vice Chairman and deserves another term.
David was first elected Chairman of the Swain County GOP in 1993 and was re-elected two years later. In 1997, he went on to Vice Chair the 11th Congressional District and held that position for five years. During that time, he served as Chair of the NCGOP Plan of Organization Committee and the Plan and Credentials Committee.
David has also dedicated his time to a number of successful Republican campaigns including those of Senators Faircloth, Burr and Dole. David continues to live in Swain County where he serves the local community as an attorney, on several corporate boards and as a firefighter with his local volunteer fire dept.
