Reader Mail: Healthcare Problems in Stimulus

As many of you have already heard, the so-called "stimulus" contains very damaging provisions, apparently authored by Tom Daschle, that would provide for electronic tracking and government monitoring of healthcare so a government bureaucrat can monitor costs and dictate patient care.  This is federal health care rationing.  We would like to get the word out about this as quickly as possible to encourage people to flood their representatives with calls demanding that this provision be removed.  Health care affects everyone, and as the article below notes, this is likely to disproportionately impact the elderly.   

Please contact your House members today and urge them to have electronic tracking and government monitoring of healthcare removed from the stimulus bill. Even if they support the stimulus, they need to oppose this portion of the bill. There is a reason why Canadians, Europeans and other foreigners who have the means come to the U.S. for surgery and other medical procedures. Our level of healthcare is the envy in the world. Why on earth would we want to see the day when our citizens have to be put on a government waiting list for life-saving surgery?
