As Precinct Chairman for 20-10 one of my responsibilities is to distribute voter information cards to GOP households in our precinct in far southwestern Cary. My precinct has about 1000 households. Here are a few things that we have observed that find very encouraging for our side:
1. The ratio of McCain yard signs to Obama yard signs remains at 5:1 to 10:1 depending on the street.
2. There are many households not on our lists of Republican households with McCain/Palin signs in their yards.
3. There are only a handful of Obama signs at households listed as Republicans on our lists.
4. Other than the Obama signs, there have been essentially no sings for any other Democrat candidate, including Ty Harrell (D-Wake), the incumbent member of the House in our precinct.
5. Along with McCain signs, many Republican households have signs for (Harrell opponent Brian) Gossage, (Sen. Elizabeth) Dole, (Auditor Les) Merritt, (4th District Congressional candidate B.J.) Lawson, and (Mayor Pat) McCrory. Clearly our side is better informed.
6. In my own neighborhood of 300+ households (WestPark, Hwy 55 and High House), there are only a handful of Obama signs, despite having a large number of Republicans and Unaffiliated (voters) here. Noticable is the lack of Obama signs at my Democrat neighbors where (Al) Gore and (John) Kerry signs were displayed the past two presidential election cycles.
Precinct 20-10 is going to deliver the goods on November 4th, and we challenge all other precinct workers in Wake County and statewide to beat us in terms of percentage of registered Republicans who vote this year. It is going to be a "deer in the headlights" moment on November 4th for the Democrats and the mainstream media.
Kent Misegades
Precinct Chairman, 20-10
Cary
Editor's Note: Cary was formerly considered a Republican stronghold in Wake County, but has voted more and more to the left in the last ten years. Last year, they managed to elect only one Republican, Don Frantz, to their town council, despite the Republicans outspending the Democrats. Your blogger agrees that this year, voters there realize it is too important to hand over the reins to liberals.
Additionally, KCC prefers to call the old media, the "lamestream" media. It is blogs like ours, with citizen journalists like Mr. Misegades, that are finally sharing the truth with the American people.
