According to State House candidate Eric Weaver, U.S. Senator Elizabeth Dole has earned the support of the North Carolina Sheriff Police Alliance. Weaver, long active in this group as a local police officer, was excited that organization had endorsed our senior Senator.
Andy Miller, the group's president, stated that they liked Dole's stances on several issues:
"Senator Dole spearheaded the first in the nation statewide partnership between the federal Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency and North Carolina Sheriffs. Under this plan, criminal illegal aliens are identified, apprehended and deported. Senator Dole has helped introduce vital legislation such as the Gang Abatement and Prevention Act.
"This bill authorizes funding for the expansion of a number of successful community anti-gang programs, including "Operation Ceasefire," a program that is already being used in High Point and Winston-Salem. And Senator Dole has been a leader in the fight to restore vital law enforcement funding to the Byrne/JAG and COPS grant programs that our agencies depend on."
Bravo, Senator Elizabeth Dole!
