Sprint Nextel is booting customers that call customer service too much and tossing soldier accounts due to excessive roaming. All potential customers should just boycott Sprint–after all you may have to call customer service once in a while or even roam (gasp).
Read the full story in the Between the Lines blog on ZD Net. You'll reconsider your relationship with Sprint in a hurry.
Oddly, there is a fancy add for Sprint that comes up, before directing you to the proper page.
We could never have Sprint, anyway, as they have no service in our neighborhood. I've been a customer of Alltel (and its predecessors) since 1991 and have had the same mobile number all that time. I was glad to have number portability, but never felt the need to leave Alltel, though I get mad with them from time-to-time.
I try to stay out of their forced contracts, as best as I can but it is not easy. Wireless companies want to hang onto you as long as they can. At least they thank me for my years of being a loyal customer.
