According to a source inside the state legislature, Rep.Paul Luebke reacted negatively to my post yesterday. "I DO work and some Wake County woman says I don't", said Luebke, according to the source.
Rep. Luebke, obviously gets a lot of work done. That's why he needs to hide out on the Legislative floor, a place inaccessable to the average citizen.
He isn't in his office when constituents call or visit, so he isn't accessible to those who elected him. My point has nothing to do with whether or not he works.
Rep. Luebke has been an elected member of the the General Assembly for some time. He knew what he was getting into when he ran for re-election. Luebke should be available for ALL visitors, not just those your legislative assistant deems "important".
Luebke also stated in the News and Observer article referenced below, that his secretary could reach him in 30 seconds if someone important visits or calls.
I beg to differ. His office is on the 9th floor of the Legislative Office Building, an edifice across the block from the Legislative building. How could she possibly make it from his office on the 9th floor, to the second floor of the Legislative building in 30 seconds? Wow!
We need to sign her up for the U.S. Olympic Track team.
