Last night, the Dixie Chicks, virtually swept the 2007 Grammy Awards. The Chicks, those Bush-bashing Texans, won a number of awards, and amazed everyone along the way.
You'll remember that several years ago, they spoke out against our President, saying they didn't support him and were ashamed to be fellow Texans. Radio stations boycotted them by refusing to promote their records and not playing their songs.
All of a sudden, they're back. This time, they have turned their rears to their core audience, country music lovers. Country music listeners are highly patriotic and won't buy their music that they feel is anti-American. Basically, The Chicks became a country group with no country audience.
Their concerts in sold few tickets and had to be cancelled, all over the country. The Recording Academy, the group that votes on the Grammy awards, apparently didn't get the message.
Now that the music awards season is over, The Chicks can go home and enjoy their trophies, albeit alone. Their former fans have moved on to better stuff.
