Hugh Webster Supports Supreme Court's "Heller" ruling

Hugh_webster_2 On June 26, the United States Supreme Court narrowly upheld in a landmark decision the rights confirmed by our Founding  Fathers expressed in the Second Amendment of the Bill of Rights, much to the dismay of Rep. Brad Miller, Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Sen. Barack Obama

State Senator Hugh Webster has long supported the North Carolina and United States Constitutions while serving in Raleigh and will always support the Constitution as written.  Hugh Webster will continue to defend the Constitutional rights of all Americans in Washington.  Hugh Webster strongly supports the Supreme Court's decision upholding the right of American citizens to defend themselves.

It is clear that under a Barack Obama administration, these rights would be in serious jeopardy.  Last week's decision was a 5-4 decision in favor of the Constitution.  With just one activist, loose constructionist appointment by Obama to the Supreme Court, our rights and Constitution almost certainly would have been violated.  In fact, Barack Obama's hometown of Chicago has a similarban on the possession of handguns that was struck down by the Supreme Court in last week's ruling in District of Columbia vs. Heller.

Rep. Brad Miller co-sponsored H.R. 1022 a.k.a. the Assault Weapons Ban Reauthorization Act of 2007 in March of 2007.  Rep. Miller also co-sponsored H.R. 1136 in March of 2005 banning the manufacture, importation, sale or purchase of various types of firearms and ammunition.

It is clear that Rep. Brad Miller has little regard for the rights granted to American Citizens to protect themselves under the Second Amendment.  Miller has even decided to be a leading voice against the Second Amendment on Capitol Hill.  It's time to bring Brad Miller home and send Hugh Webster to Congress representing North Carolina's Thirteenth District to support Constitutional rights.

It is time to let Brad Miller, Speaker Pelosi, Barack Obama and other Washington elites know that we do not "cling to guns and religion" because we are bitter.  It's time to replace Representative Brad Miller.

Editor's Note: The above was from a press release supplied from the Webster campaign.  Katy's Conservative Corner strongly supports Senator Webster in his bid to defeat Congressman Brad Miller in this important 13th district race.  It's time Miller returned to private life in Raleigh!

Rep. Brad Miller Caught in Lie - Not Uncommitted Superdelegate - KCC exclusive

Liar_miller_2  Today at noon, while your blogger was driving to pick up her son at pre-school, she heard Congressman Brad Miller (D-NC, 13th Dist.) spouting his usual mixture of lies and mistruths on WPTF-AM radio.

In an interview with reporter Mike Blackman, Miller stated that he was an undecided super delegate.

After securing her son in the car, your blogger called Blackman to offer him a scoop.  Brad Miller had flat-out lied to him.  Miller couldn't be an undeclared super delegate.  His wife, Esther Hall, was seen on national television standing behind Barak Hussein Obama, in Reynolds Coliseum on the campus of NC State University.

She was cheering as hard as any high school cheerleader, yet Miller says he's uncommitted?

Esther Hall is a nice lady, but is very left-of-center.  Like most political couples, your blogger is sure they agree on the issues.

When KCC told this to WPTF's Blackman, he sounded annoyed and angry that he had been handed this "tip".  Further, he never followed-up to share this tip with his listeners.

Is this more of the drive-by media that Rush Limbaugh speaks of?  We think so.  This small incident is just one more example of how the media refuses to report the truth. It also serves as yet another example of what liberal politicians will say and do to get re-elected.

Log Cabin Republicans Endorse BJ Lawson in 4th District GOP Congressional Race

In the race to see who gets the opportunity to take on Congressman David Price (D-NC, 4th), BJ Lawson has received an endorsement from the Log Cabin Republicans. Log Cabin Republicans are a group of gay Republicans that believe President Lincoln was homosexual. Their politics vary from the very conservative to the liberal, based on individual beliefs.

Gay Your blogger was copied on the mean-spirited e-mail to Augustus Cho, below:

From: Log Cabin Republicans of North Carolina

Dear Augustus Cho:

Did you forget something?

Details?  Details?

Hate to break it to you, but that is what Washington is all about.

While you were confusing having unquestioned patriotic hubris with true loyalty while downing martinis at a Seoul Korea bar in one of your recent blog postings, the Log Cabin Republicans of North Carolina were reading B. J. Lawson's thoughtful writings.

Though some of us at Log Cabin Republicans of N.C. like you have been in bars in our time, we certainly don't condone this type of behavior.

So, we're voting for LAWSON.

JOIN US AT:
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/LCRNorthCarolina/

EDITOR'S NOTE: Your blogger is not involved in this contest, nor any congressional race. KCC thinks there is a hint of racism here, referring to South Korean bars and ugliness by implying that Cho is a heavy drinker.  We didn't think a group of gay Republicans, who have their own battles to fight for acceptance, would stoop so low.

Libtards We do understand why they would endorse BJ over Augustus.  As a closeted Libertarian, who has been a registered Republican all his adult life, BJ probably has a more "live and let live" approach to gay issues.  However, your blogger has warned in the past that followers of former Presidential candidate, Ron Paul, are trying to take over the GOP

Paul, who once ran for President as a Libertarian, leads a huge movement.  Known by their detractors as "RonTards", they are trying to take over the Republican party at every level in an attempt to force Ron Paul's candidacy onto the floor at the National Republican Convention in July.

Conservatives have been lucky that these Ron Paul followers have not been educated in the mechanics of party politics at any level and they have found it difficult to earn delegate spots for the national GOP convention.

These slots were up for grabs at the recent district conventions that were held across NC and the US.  This, most certainly, will not be the case in the next national election cycle.

KCC is saddened by this attempt by Libertarians to take over our once Grand Old Party.  These people had their own party.  It failed, and now they are out to ruin the Republican Party, too.  Do us all a favor, and hook up with the Democrats first.

Rep. Foxx: How Much Will the Pelosi Premium Cost Us? (Video)

Check out this video featuring Rep. Virginia Foxx (R-NC, 5th District).  With Obama out there crying for "change", this blogger says we already HAVE change, and too much of it.

Two years ago, we elected a Democrat Congress and this is the price we pay.  Thanks alot, you liberals.

Myrick Takes Aim At Terrorism with 10-Point Plan

Sue_myrick Rep. Sue Myrick wants America to "wake up" and stop allowing terrorism to proliferate -- and if that means revoking the passport of a former U.S. President or examining the preaching of prison chaplains, that's what she's prepared to do."

Read the entire post from Friday's Charlotte Observer.

Your blogger is a huge fan of Mrs. Myrick and appreciates that she "gets it" in the war on terrorism.  Myrick is putting herself at personal risk to take such stances, and the left often portrays her as being out-of-touch or paranoid.

Disagree Frankly, we need more like Mrs. Myrick in the halls of Congress and her stance is an "American issue" and not a partisan one. Your blogger wishes that members of Congress like Brad Miller, and David Price would have the courage to stand with her, as many Democrats have done.

Katy's Conservative Corner calls on all of North Carolina's Congressional delegation to stand with and support Mrs. Myrick on these important issues.

(Continue reading, below, to see her 10-point plan amd to see what a Democrat rival is saying, and read her latest letter to her supporters.)

Liberal Anti-War Groups Line Up For Walter Jones, Jr.-- KCC Endorses Joe McLaughlin

Moveon The American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU), Moveon.org, and other extremist left groups have been running ads supporting Congressman Walter B. Jones, Jr (R-NC 3rd District).  Moveon.org funneled money to the Jones campaign via another group, innocently called votevets.org, but is staunchly anti-war.

Joeintro Joe McLaughlin (left), Jones' opponent in the May 6th Republican primary wrote recently:

"His latest campaign finance report shows donations from big money unions including the AFL-CIO.  It also includes a $500 donation from Rufus Edmisten, the former Democrat N.C. Secretary of State who resigned under a cloud of scandal.  In fact, much of his financial support is coming from Democrats.  Now, the ACLU (famous for its' opposition to prayer in schools, securing our borders and protecting the sanctity of marriage) has joined the list of liberals trying to save Walter's political career.

"Walter Jones is the poster-boy for the liberal left and they roll him out whenever someone accuses them of not having bipartisan support on an issue.  In short, it is important for the Democrats to keep Walter Jones in office."

Hugh Webster Compares 13th District Race to D-Day

Election08 Former state Senator, Hugh Webster, announced his campaign to take on liberal Congressman Brad Miller yesterday at the North Carolina Republican Party headquarters.

The former six-term state senator compared this race to the D-Day invasion of Normandy.

"I have fought in uphill battles before...it's a long ways up that steep cliff.  But I don't plan to die trying."

The staunch conservative has often been compared to Senator "No" Jesse Helms as Webster was regularly the solo "No" vote in the NC Senate.  He was defeated for re-election in 2006, in an election that saw only 6% of conservatives voting.  Your blogger initiated Katy's Conservative Corner after two successive election cycles where Republicans and conservatives failed to turn out at the polls.

The accountant from Caswell County cited the need to scrap the tax code, protect the Constitution, and secure the nations borders, according to the Associated Press.

What Do Crack Dealers and Those Who Hire Illegal Aliens Have in Common? by Carl Mumpower

Carl_mumpower_2 What's the difference between a crack dealer, a pimp, and a greedy businessman that hires illegal aliens? Nothing.

In significant ways, business people who hire illegals are, in fact, doing more harm to society than some of our worst criminals. These people take advantage of a cheap labor pool which, in turn, kills the need to motivate, train, and uplift our own citizens.  Add to that all the hidden costs to our schools, hospitals, and police departments, and the extra financial burdens leave us increasingly unable to help our own.

The illegal immigration situation is the greatest "state-sponsored law-breaking scheme" in American history, and this indictment extends to a federal government that has been unwilling to deal with what has become the "political football" of the new century.

Congress continually fumbles the ball for fear that will cost them votes. We are demonizing illegal aliens...when the real guilt lies with the people who employ them.

It's the illegal jobs that fuel the illegal immigration: find these companies and punish them severely. Make it unprofitable to hire illegal aliens and the migration will reverse itself.

There's a Tax on Shuler's "Blue Dog" Credentials by Dr. Carl Mumpower

Carl_mumpower_2Congressman Heath Shuler (D-Swain) voted in favor of H.R. bill 3996, which passed on Friday, November 9th, by a vote of 216 to 193.

The "AMT bill" is one of the steps in implementing the overriding tax reform effort pressed by the Democrats under the leadership of Charlie Rangel (D-NY).  The bill provides temporary relief from the Alternative Minimum Tax (AMT) to some but additional modifications in the bill amounted to an overall $72 Billion increase.

This is just the first lighting strike in an upcoming storm of Democrat supported increases in our Federal tax burden.

I like Congressman Shuler personally, but I have trouble with the way he says one thing at home and does another in Washington - actions speak louder than words and voting for this masked tax increase is not a real blue dog action.

President Bush and the Republican Congress initiated major tax cuts at the beginning of the President's first term than many economists credit for the surprisingly strong post 9-11 economy.  What has been touted as "The Mother of all Tax Hikes" is a Democrat initiative to not renew those tax cuts and instead pursue dramatic increases that will affect 94 million families earning between $20,000 and $200,000 per year.

I am disgusted with my own party's recent borrow and spend policies, but the solution is not a return to the decades of tax and spend policies of the Democrats.  America needs leadership that will hold the line on taxes and spending at the same time and stay out of the dangerous ditches on either side of this responsibility.

80% of Heath Shuler's votes are in support of Nancy Pelosi's liberal agenda - I'm going to make sure the people of Western North Carolina know and that they have a choice beyond Democrat or Republican business as usual.

Editors Note: Dr. Carl Mumpower (in photo, above) is a Republican candidate for Congress in North Carolina's 11th District.
