Wednesday evening, Bill Randall (left - photo MeckGOP), announced his intentions to challenge U.S. Rep. Brad Miller (D-13). Randall, a retired US Navy Meteorologist, lives with his wife in Wake Forest, just North of Raleigh.
He's what your blogger deems a "true" conservative, in that he touts strong social beliefs, as well as his staunch fiscal ideals. He plans to officially enter the race on July 1st.
In a letter he wrote to Republican 13th Congressional District Chairman, David Robinson, Randall stated:
"The race for this pivotal U.S. Congressional seat will be challenging, and will require that we are all pulling in the same direction. The vital importance of your support, along with the other counties in the 13th District, CANNOT BE OVERSTATED.
"For your information, I have been invited as one of the speakers at the
Independence Day (Family) "Tea Party" at Halifax Mall in downtown Raleigh (1:00 - 5:00 PM). "
Congratulations to Bill Randall. Your blogger hears that others are considering entering and that there may be a Republican primary. KCC feels certain that these candidates will conduct themselves as Ladies and Gentlemen and so that money can be saved for the fall 2010 campaign to send Brad Miller back to Raleigh.
Conservatives in Raleigh don't especially want him back, but perhaps he can busy himself by playing with dirt, gardening, and entertain himself by hanging out with the hippies and druggies at coffee houses.
